Assalam alaykum and welcome to the The Ladies Tadabbur Institute. I am Halima Jibir, Founder and Chief Instructor. I invite you to join us to study the Qur'an the way of the Sahabah (companions of the prophet ﷺ). We focus not only on Tilawat (recitation) but mainly on pondering over the meanings and implementing its teachings.

What is Tadabbur?
Tadabbur (to Ponder) as it relates to the Qur'an is to go beyond recitation and understanding the meaning of the aayats to reflecting upon the teachings, so that a feeling of Iman envelops you and moves you to an action of implementing the message so learnt. Our interactive sessions aim to develop students' ability to learn the deep meanings, reflect, implement and make their character the Qur'an بإذن الله.
By Tadabbur you become among those of understanding, you remember when you implement and your heart finds rest (is assured) with the Remembrance of Allah. We may ask,

I joined the Tadabbur class a few weeks back. The classes hold just twice a week- one for Quranic recitation and taddabur the other on Tajweed.
The class teaches the Qur'an in entirely different way that has really changed my life.
- I have a deeper understanding of the Qur'an through the reflections and assignments.
- I find myself being much more conscious of Allah's injunctions (doing good and avoiding negative actions) in my daily affairs.
- I find myself being less judgemental of people and instead concentrate on correcting myself.
- I find myself striving to read the Quran correctly more often and with better understanding.
And all these in just two months of joining the class! I cannot wait to taste further the sweetness of what is ahead in acquiring the knowledge that will make me a better person in Shaa Allah.

I find the lessons quite rewarding and inspiring. Although I've always tried to understand the ayats I read or recite during salah, I don't always stop to ponder over the meanings deeply or apply them appropriately to my daily life. These interactions we've had have awakened me to Allah's call to ponder over the ayats of the Qur'an (Allah Subahanahu wa Ta'aala says, "Don't they ponder over the Qur'an or are there locks upon their hearts?" (47:24) and then implement the teachings thereof. It has also wet my appetite to carry out more research into the wealth of knowledge and wisdom in the Qur'an. I therefore enjoin more sisters to join us on this beautiful and life-changing Journey.
